1st Period: Hilary Knight scored after 53 seconds with the US first shot! Finland have killed 2 Power Plays, good defensive work by the Finland team. Finland have also forced the US keeper into a few saves, very physical is Ice Hockey! Good effort from Finland to only keep US to that solitary goal.
2nd Period Goals: 27.42 Stack (US) Assisted by Knight & Bozek
35.59 Carpenter (PP) Assisted by Schleper
2nd Period: Early shots by US saved by the Finnish keeper, US hammering their shots in, a goal in the 8th min of the period for Kelly Stack nice little finish assisted by Hilary Knight who scored the 1st US goal. A 3rd Power Play for the US halfway through the period, killed by Finland, 4th Power play with 5min to go in period Finnish coaching team not happy, but US score on their 4th PP chance! Finland now get a power play chance US kill it & have control of this hockey game 3-0 at the end of the 2nd period.
3rd Period Goals: 55.22 Tapani (PP) FIN
3rd Period: US still bossing this as we go into the final period, Finland getting some more chances US keeper up to it, no goals as yet in this 3rd period halfway through, 5min remain and Finland have only their 2nd PP of the game, Finland score from it! Finland have an open goal trying to get another offensive player on to try & score a 2nd, they couldn't and the US win 3-1.
