Alex Cuthbert dived for the line to draw the home side level again, while further efforts from Alun-Wyn Jones andTevita Kuridrani ensured that the sides remained level at the break.
Both sides were was defensive at the start of the second half, leading to few try-scoring opportunities shortly after the break, but Bernard Foley kicked two penalties to put the visitors ahead.
The home side edged back in front with 15 minutes to play when an error in the scrum by Australia gave Wales a penalty try, but Foley made a drop goal shortly after to restore the visitors' lead before kicking a penalty late on to clinch the victory.

England 21-24 New Zealand: A strong second-half performance from New Zealand gave the All Blacks a 24-21 win over England in the Autumn International at Twickenham this afternoon.
Jonny May sprinted for the line early on to give the home side an early lead, but it was soon cancelled out whenAaron Cruden stretched over for the All Blacks.
Owen Farrell ensured that England were ahead at the break though, kicking three penalties for Stuart Lancaster's side, while Cruden added a further six points with the boot for the visitors.
New Zealand found a gap down the left flank early in the second half, allowing Richie McCaw to power his way over for the world champions.
Dane Coles had a spell in the sin bin for the visitors, but England could not make the most of their numerical advantage.
Charlie Faumuina seemed to have put the result beyond doubt in the final 10 minutes when he raced over for New Zealand's third try of the game, leaving them 10 points up.
The hosts were awarded a penalty try late on, but it came too late for England to launch a comeback.

France 40-15 Fiji: France have cruised to a 40-15 win over Fiji in the Autumn Internationals in Marseille this evening.

Fiji did find the try line shortly after the restart as Watisoni Votu powered over to cut France's lead to just six points.
Thomas ensured that there was no comeback though, scoring two tries in three minutes to complete his hat-trick, and all but seal the win for the hosts.
France continued to dominate in the final 20 minutes, resulting in tries for Pascal Pape and Wesley Fofanabefore full time, while Timoci Nagusa grabbed a late consolation for the visitors.

Ireland 29-15 South Africa: Ireland have comprehensively defeated South Africa 29-15 in their opening autumn international at the Aviva Stadium this evening.

Jonny Sexton kicked the home side ahead early on, and he stepped up to convert a second penalty shortly after in what was a low-scoring first half.
Ireland's lead was reduced when Handre Pollard added a pen of his own two minutes before the interval, but just two minutes after the restart Rhys Ruddock slid over in the corner for the game's first try.
The Springboks, who ended New Zealand's 22-match unbeaten run last time out, upped the ante in search of a way back into the contest, and they were duly rewarded when Marcell Coetzee crossed the whitewash with Pollard successfully adding the extras.
A controversial moment came on 66 minutes when Adriaan Strauss was shown a yellow, and Ireland made the extra man count when Tommy Bowe crossed over, adding to his five previous pens as the Six Nations champions well and truly took command.
There was still time for replacement Ian Madigan to add his name to the scoresheet when he kicked over a pen, while JP Pietersen touched down at the very death to pull back a consolation try for the dejected visitors.

Scotland 41-31 Argentina: Scotland have begun their Autumn Internationals in style with a 41-31 mauling of Argentina at Murrayfield this evening.

Although they ended the night in imperious fashion, the game began disastrously for the hosts as Javier Ortega Desio put Argentina ahead with a second-minute try.
However, Richie Gray hit straight back for Scotland after selling a sumptuous dummy to Manuel Montero.
Although Nicolas Sanchez then kicked Aregntina back in front, Richie's brother Jonny Gray scored a try for himself before Sean Maitland dived over the tryline just three minutes later after an incisive Scotland move to give them a sizeable lead.
Stuart Hogg made in 29-10 to the hosts six minutes into the second half as a carnival atmosphere descended inside the stadium.
With 15 minutes remaining, Argentina thought they had made the scoreline a little more respectable when Tomas Lavanini bundled over the line, but the video referee denied them the score.
Nonetheless, they did earn their second try of the evening with eight minutes remaining when they were awarded a penalty try, but Scotland then went immediately up the other end and crossed for their fifth try through Tommy Seymour.
Despite a couple of late consolation tries from Tomas Cubelli, Scotland will be ecstatic with an entertaining win to kick off their Autumn Internationals.
