Warrington Wolves 22-8 Salford
Warrington Wolves have started their Super League campaign with a comfortable 22-8 win over Salford Red Devils in their first match of the new season this afternoon.
The sides remained level for the opening 25 minutes, but Richie Myler made the most of a strong spell of possession to open the scoring for the hosts.
Mickey Higham came off the bench to double Warrington's advantage just three minutes later, leaving the Wolves 12 points up at the break.
Rhys Evans extended Warrington's lead further early in the second half before Ben Jones-Bishop got Salford off the mark with a dive over in the corner after a quick break.
Evans put the win beyond doubt with his second of the afternoon 10 minutes from full time, sprinting down the wing, while Jones-Bishop completed his brace at the death.
