Watson & Kuchar
Europe's Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson went on a birdie blitz against Matt Kuchar and Bubba Watson of the USA to win their third consecutive match of the Ryder Cup in stunning fashion this morning.
After leading out Europe in both sessions and winning their fourball and foursome matches yesterday, the Anglo-Swedish duo again were chosen to go out first by captain Paul McGinley.
They didn't get off to the best of starts, though, as Kuchar rolled home his birdie putt after Rose and Stenson had both slid theirs by.
Rose made birdie at the par-5 2nd to respond immediately before Watson notched his first sub-par score to restore the US advantage at the 3rd.
At the 6th Kuchar found the cup from distance to extend the Americans' advantage to two holes, but that would be their last hole victory as Rose and Stenson between them incredibly birdied 10 holes in a row.
Kuchar and Watson birdied five of those 10, but they couldn't keep up with the on-fire European duo, with Rose in particular making several important putts.
At the 10th he made a putt from off the green to halve before again equalling the American birdie at 11.
Stenson's birdie at the 12th then put Europe ahead in the match for the first time before Rose again found his range with the short stick at 13.
It looked as if Europe would go 3 Up with three to play at the 15th when Stenson stiffed an approach to gimme range, but Kuchar made a huge putt from distance to keep the Europeans within two.
At the 16th, both Rose and Stenson were wayward off the tee, but Rose delivered a third shot to just a couple of feet that was good enough for the hole and a 3&2 victory.
Rose should play again this afternoon and will attempt to become the first European to ever win all five of his matches at a Ryder Cup. Stenson, however, is sitting out of the foursomes because of a tight back.
Donaldson & Westwood
US win 4&3
Furyk & Mahan
Jamie Donaldson and Lee Westwood of Europe failed to win a hole all match as Team USA's Hunter Mahan and Jim Furyk beat the British duo 4&3 in day two's fourballs at the 40th Ryder Cup.
Mahan and Furyk, who were both playing fourballs for the first time after sitting out yesterday's morning session, birdied four of the first seven holes to go 3 Up on the Europeans at the turn.
Holes eight to 13 were all halved as the Americans kept Europe at bay before they went Dormie 4 with an eagle at the short par-4 14th.
Mahan's drive on the 285-yard hole just rolled off the back edge of the green before he slid home the putt.
Europe then had to win every hole to salvage a half-point and their challenge ended at the 15th as Westwood's birdie try to extend the match went just by.

Bjorn & Kaymer
US win 5&3
Reed & Spieth
The American rookie duo of Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth have continued their 100% record at the 40th Ryder Cup by coming from two holes to behind to hammer Europe's Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer 5&3 at Gleneagles.
Bjorn and Kaymer got off to a fantastic start when the latter made a winning birdie at the 1st before Bjorn extended their lead to two holes with another birdie.
That would be the last hole that the Europeans won, though, as Reed and Spieth triumphed on seven of the next 12 to end the match at the 15th.
Wins at five, six and nine saw the Americans go in front at the turn and it would have been even better had Bjorn not chipped in at the 7th.
A birdie from Spieth at the par-3 10th put USA 2 Up and Reed then continued the duo's birdie run with two more at 13 and 14.
That put America 4 Up with four to play and they clinched the win with another birdie, their seventh in 10 holes, on the par-4 15th.
The latest scoreboard now reads Europe 6-5 USA, with the final fourball match of the day a tight one between Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter, Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker.
McIlroy & Poulter
A/S
Walker & Fowler
The European duo of Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter have secured an enthralling half-point in the 40th Ryder Cup's final fourball match against Team USA's Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker.
Poulter, after his first loss at the Ryder Cup since 2010 in the fourballs with Stephen Gallacher yesterday, got off to an encouraging start with a hole-winning birdie on the par-4 1st after a wayward tee shot into the rough.
The next three were halved before the European pair made a mess of the 5th, the hardest hole on the course, as Walker made a cool birdie to level the match.
Six and seven were halved before world number one McIlroy took over at the end of the front nine, birdieing the 8th and 9th to put Europe 2 Up at the turn.
Fowler gave the US a perfect start to the back nine by holing his shot from the greenside bunker at the par-3 10th, with McIlroy unable to answer with his birdie putt.
Walker then made hole-winning birdies at the 11th and 13th to put the match in the Americans' favour.
The short par-4 14th was halved in birdie threes before Poulter joined the party with an improbable chip-in from way short of the green at the 15th.
He saved McIlroy a tricky downhill putt, but it wasn't enough to win the hole as Fowler also made birdie.
Poulter would make a winning birdie at the next hole, though, to draw Europe level going to the par-3 17th, where both teams made par.
At the 18th, McIlroy, Poulter and Walker had secured birdies before Fowler's eagle putt to win it slid by to the left, so the match ended all square.
Going into the afternoon foursome session, the overall scoreboard now reads Europe 6.5-5.5 USA. The Ryder Cup is finely poised
Day 2 Fourballs

EUR 3.5 - 0.5 USA

Donaldson & Westwood (Europe) beat Johnson & Kuchar (USA) - 2&1
Jamie Donaldson and Lee Westwood have recorded their second foursome victory of the 2014 Ryder Cup after recording a 2&1 win over Matt Kuchar and Zach Johnson.
Kuchar and Johnson got off to the perfect start with a chip in on the first but the opening five holes went back and forth as neither team could find too much consistency.
Europe took the lead after seven, but an excellent conversion by Kuchar on the eighth green got his team back on level terms just before the turn.
Donaldson drained a putt from six feet to give Europe a slender advantage at the turn and that lead was doubled at the 10th.
Both teams had chances to win on the following three holes but neither could find the target, but an eagle on the short 14th from USA halved the deficit going into the final four holes.
However, Europe struck back on the 16th with Westwood finding the cup to assure his team of a half, and victory was confirmed on the penultimate hole to take Europe into a two-point lead.

Kaymer & Rose (Europe) v Spieth & Reed (USA) A/S
Justin Rose and Martin Kaymer had fought back to earn a share of their match against Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed in Saturday afternoon's foursomes.
Rose and Kaymer had started well in moving one in front after three, but the American rookies began to warm to the task in moving two ahead after seven.
However, Reed missed a chance at eight to extend the lead to three shots before he missed another putt at nine to allow Europe to reduce the deficit.
The young duo responded by winning the 10th, but Rose and Kaymer weren't finished and they took the 12th and 15th to level the match with three to play.
Reed missed a two-foot putt on 16 to miss a clear opening for USA to take the lead, but Europe slipped up on the penultimate green to allow the Americans to hold the momentum on the last.
Both teams sent their approaches into the greenside bunker, but it was Europe who played it better and Rose made no mistake from six feet to ensure that his team will take a 10-6 lead into the singles.

Garcia & McIlroy (Europe) beat Furyk & Mahan (USA) 3&2
Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia have continued a positive afternoon for Europe in Saturday's foursomes by beating Hunter Mahan and Jim Furyk by a 3&2 scoreline.
McIlroy and Garcia raced into a two-shot lead in as many holes after consecutive bogeys from Furyk and Mahan, but the Americans hit back on the third to stay in contention.
Remarkably, the next 10 holes were shared as both teams battled for a point that could change or improve their fortunes in the match before Europe struck at the 14th to reopen a two-shot lead.
Both McIlroy and Garcia have only showed their undoubted ability in patches throughout the first two days but they playing some superb matchplay golf to close the door on their opponents.
After reaching the 16th with a two-shot margin still intact, McIlroy and Garcia got their ball in close to pile the pressure on their opponents, who could only make bogey, and to ultimately take their team to 9.5 points, just 4.5 short of their target.

Dubuisson & McDowell (Europe) beat Walker & Fowler (USA) 5&4
Graeme McDowell and Victor Dubuisson have registered their second successive foursomes win with a 5&4 triumph over Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker.
The pair were trusted in the final match for the second time in 24 hours after they defeated Phil Mickelson andKeegan Bradley yesterday afternoon, and they were never in danger of slipping up against their opponents, who looked weary after already playing 54 holes.
Europe were four shots ahead after six before another miss putt from the Americans saw them lead by five at the turn.
Fowler made a putt at 11 for their first hole of the afternoon, but the five-shot margin was soon back at the 13th to leave the Americans almost at the point of no return.
More poor play for the visitors on the 14th gave McDowell the chance to roll a putt up close and he did just that to see Europe move eight points to five ahead.
